Featuring – 12/12 Decor

Last fall while cruising one of my favourite neighbourhoods, I had my eye on the activity going on at 1212 Yonge St.  And I was so pleased to see a new décor store open.  When I saw their window display, I knew this was not just another décor store.  12/12 Décor breaks the mold and dares to be the kind of store we need in this city.

Lead by design visionary, Alexander Donovan, 12/12 has the most unique, high quality items I’ve seen in a long time.  And color galore, which I love.  Alexander has a keen understanding of where we are in our society and our need to nest and do more entertaining in the home.  He has brought back proper decorating, the way it should be done; with beautiful pieces that aren’t just there to match the theme of the room but to create interest, personality and conversation.  These pieces are sure to intrigue and delight your guests.  And more importantly, these pieces are gorgeous and are sure to create an eclectic and dynamic environment in your home or office.

At 12/12 they also, offer design consulting, to make sure the pieces you select work with your vision.  Customer servicing is their focus.  Such a nice change!

Make it a point to go down this weekend and see the huge variety of furniture and accessories at 12/12.  I guarantee you will find something that you just have to have!

1212 Decor Opens with Style!

Although one of my fave stores 1212 Décor has been open for a couple of months already, Wednesday night was the fabulous Grand Opening Party. And Grand it was.

Greeted by a row of very handsome valet parking attendants, my client Judith and I entered to very welcoming hostesses who checked us in, and then promptly handed us a very yummy drink which was some sort of Passion Fruit Alize mixture (perfectly timed!).

The party started at 6 and when we had arrived at 6:20 it was already packed with gorgeous designers, clients, and media.  Cameras clicking, welcoming speeches were given by Alexander Donovan and Design Icon Larry Laslo (who’s work is showcased at 1212 Décor). And then the music was peaked and exquisite food and drink by Catering with Style, flowed endlessly.  Aaah! There’s nothing like a well orchestrated party.

Elegant Ford models were showcasing the latest Lucian Matis Fall 2010 designs (a very nice touch).  I was able to catch Rhoda Eisenstadt from The Communications Group Inc., to congratulate her on another incredibly successful event (she really is the only one you would want to call to handle an event of this caliber).

And then I finally noticed that the store had expanded. Another furniture gallery is now opened at the back and the fabric and art gallery is located in the basement.   And everything had changed since my last visit (which wasn’t that long ago!).  You will have to get down there to see for yourself, but I did however take a picture of my favourite bedroom!

Simply elegant, modern high style!  1212 Décor really is the only go to store in Rosedale in my books!
