I met Christine back in 2007, when she popped in for a visit to the Ad agency I was working for at the time. Christine was on maternity leave, and although I didn’t work with her directly, I saw her talent all over the office with her award winning logos and ad campaigns.
Two years prior, in 2005, Christine started to do her own design work at home and Love the Design was born. Designing primarily couture stationery and invitations, Christine eventually wanted to get back to her passion – photography. Studying design and photography in New York was the foundation for her next step: creating amazing artwork from her photography with hits of graphic elements. See her art here.
Winning awards and recognition for her talent was just not enough for Christine, because the idea of having her own shop was always in the back of her mind. And when the opportunity to rent a space in Leslieville on Queen St. E. came up, she jumped at it and hasn’t looked back. In typical Christine-style, with great focus and a keen design eye, she is now on the precipice of making her dream come true.
I promised not to show you too much and spoil the surprise, so here’s just a sneak peak of the shop one week before the opening.
Still a bit disheveled and awaiting more pieces, you can get a sense of the wonderful treasures she will have to offer – from art, furniture, lighting and home accessories.
I’ll reveal some of the clever elements Christine has put into the space in upcoming posts.
But for now, mark your calendars for the opening next Saturday March 5. See below for details.
Hope to see you there!
Cheers!
