My very good friends Dana and Joel have this amazing food blog called Well Preserved. I get their posts everyday, and love to read every single one, because it’s not just about preserves but many other kinds of food experiences. And this month, they have a contest going called “Pimp My Preserve”. Totally love this one because it’s a challenge to decorate your preserves for gift giving. Perfect timing.
And your entry will get you a spot in a draw to win this very cool autographed book, “Canning & Preserving with Ashley English”.
So I’m thinking about a cozy, since my studio is full of cut-up sweaters.
Here’s how I pimped my preserves:
I was inspired by the colours of the zucchini relish.
I cut-up strips of sweaters and found a perfectly coloured zipper piece. And then I placed them in the order I wanted to sew them:
Sew, sew, sew. It really took only about 10 minutes of sewing. And ta da!
Easy Peasy. And you can reuse the preserve cozy to hold something else. It’s always good to make things multi-functional!
Check out Well Preserved and enter your decorated preserve jar in order to win ( the deadline has been extended)!
Cheers!
[…] how many entries you can contribute. There’s some great ideas …check out this one from Diana at Flohaus (my talented interior design consultant friend!)…..She’s given us a little preview of her contribution and even shown how she did […]
Oh wow! I love the little window on top!
[…] Number 9 comes from our friend Diana at Flohaus, she made this ‘preserve cozy’ out of bits of old sweaters (probably left over from her AWESOME contribution to the Chair Affair). There’s a little window in the top so you don’t miss the label (one of our business cards!) and it unzips to reveal the preserve…zuccini relish that inspired the colours of the cozy. I wish I was better at sewing! Diana has put up a post with instructions…. […]
