While searching for a unique lighting fixture, I came across this jewel of a stop.  In the West Queen West neighbourhood, perfectly situated on the south side of Queen St., Lawrence Blairs is the owner and curator of ATOMIC.   Perfectly named, for he has some of the best pieces of mid century modern furniture and accessories that I’ve ever seen.

Lawrence Blairs offers his clients a well edited collection of unique furniture, art, lighting, modernist glass, jewellery and objects from the early 1960’s through to the mid 80’s.  He carefully and lovingly restores these pieces to their former glory.  They truly are in mint condition.

His collection includes notable 20th century designers such as Pierre Paulin, Verner Panton, Charles and Ray Eames, Ingo Maurer, Guzzini, Kartell, George Nelson, Achille and Pier Castiglioni & Conran Associates UK.
Here are just some of the pieces in his boutique.  I’ve got my eye on the Wassily chair!

My Chair!

Go down there and buy something unique for Christmas or just have a look.  I promise you’ll be amazed at the beautiful pieces.

ATOMIC can be found at  965 Queen St. West, just east of Shaw Street on the south side.

Times are Sun-Mon – By Appt,  Tues-Sat – 12:pm – 7:pm

Contact Lawrence at  416.912.2358 or  atomic@atomicdesign.ca

Cheers!
