Last night, the season’s best fundraising event took place.
As you know I’ve been talking about it for some time now, since I was one of the participants along with 29 other designers and artists.
The Chair Affair Event took place to raise funds for the Furniture Bank, an organization that I’m passionate about because it provides not only furniture for families in need but also supplies all of the essentials needed to make a house a home. And every week I get to be part of the community and help these families.
Held at the Steam Whistle Brewery, the evening was MC’d by Susan Hay along with Bill Coulter and media sponsor Global TV. Master Auctioneer and MP Jack Layton took charge and squeezed the most money out of the crowd of bidders. The food supplied by Feast Your Eyes was excellent and abundant. Never a dull moment, we enjoyed great music by Kenny V and mind-blowing magic (I mean psychic facilitation) by James Biss.
It was a hugely successful evening, due in no small part to the dedication of the Furniture Bank staff and volunteers. Over $50,000 was raised.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
