Happy Monday everyone!
I’m still recovering from the most fantastic Italian meal, that I had with friends this past Saturday.
Massimo is an Italian Chef who holds a very exclusive dinner event once or twice a month, where he features cuisine from different regions of Italy. It is the most extraordinary gastronomic experience you will ever have, short of going to Italy directly. Massimo’s passion for his craft becomes clear when before you are served, he explains the history and regional nuances of the meal you are about to eat; this month was Sicily. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, as if you are in his kitchen and you are part of his family. Mmmm…. the memory of the arancini! To die for.
But what does this have to do with colour palettes?
Well, besides promising that I’d show you pictures, I wanted to reveal how easy it is to create your very own colour palette. A colour palette you can use for whatever area of your home you choose.
I love food and I love Italy. So, if I were to renovate my kitchen, I would take the pictures of this great meal and match the colours using my pantone book or paint colour chips or even pencil crayons. Use whatever you have available.
Orange and onion salad Octopus salad
Chicken with Eggplants Fettucine with Swordfish Sauce
Strawberries with Marsala Cannoli Siciliani
Here are the resulting colour palettes:
This time I used the digital Pantone version on their website. Just sign up and you too can match a palette to whatever picture you want. Then simply print it out and take it with you whenever you go shopping for accessories. A very good service.
What’s inspiring you lately? Is it a favourite blouse or picture or pair of shoes? Go for a walk and take pictures of your surroundings. Go to the Pantone website and see what amazing palettes you can create.
Send me your pictures and I’ll post them at the end of the week.
Have fun!
Cheers!
